Tin Man Eternal

What doesn't mean forever means scarce much.
Every lost Today is an Ever we can't touch.
Supplanted by Tomorrow's fresh forevers, they spiral down
into the realm of Yesterdays and never.

And over all, it seems, stands watch a man of hollow-chested tin,

Saying:

"If you love me not today, then when?"

  1. I like this. A lot. Especially the first line.

  2. "What doesn't mean forever means scarce much."
    Very true very often.

"Every lost Today is an Ever we can't touch."
    Painful, profound, scary truth.

Is the man of hollow-chested tin God?

I love this one. Short but potent, and the rhythm and rhymes are awesome.

  3. He is a poet, and the Tin Woodcutter from the Land of Oz, and me, and yes, God also.
